The exploitative segregation of plant roots (Science)

Researchers from Princeton demonstrated that 'neighbor plants segregate their root systems in the soil space but develop more roots locally when a competitor is close than when growing alone'.
Roots from different plants compete for prime real estate underground. Cabal & coworkers research published recently in Science.
